Taking Back the Streets Continues in Washington D.C. on April 23rd
Its second exhibit will be held in Washington D.C. The mission of this initiative is to make water cool to kids and teens and support the Partnership for a Healthier America’s (PHA) Drink Up initiative, which encourages everyone to drink more water more often. In addition to the fourteen renowned street artists who participated in the New York City event, WAT-AAH! has recruited ten new artists to the D.C. event including Lady AIKO, “HAZE” and Lina Viktor who will headline a new collection of original works and specially designed WAT-AAH! bottle labels, to be debuted in Washington D.C. at the Long View Gallery on April 23, 2014.

WAT-AAH! Foundation Wows NYC's Art Community With Its Taking Back the Streets and Special Guest the First Lady
WAT-AAH! Foundation continues to make water cool to kids and wows NYC art community with its "Taking Back the Streets" exhibit and a special guest -- the First Lady!! The traveling exhibition displays the works of 14 artists: Kenny Scharf, Shepard Fairey, Swoon, Maya Hayuk, Shantell Martin, Trey Speegle, Damien Mitchell, Metro Zu, Lichiban, Tony Concep, VESA, Damon Johnson, MENT and Smurfo. Each artist is showcasing an original piece of artwork inspired by Drink Up’s water drop logo. The exhibition also showcases a special tribute to Kenny Scharf and Keith Haring for their extensive efforts in engaging youth with the arts.
First Lady Michelle Obama Visits WAT-AAH!'s Taking Back the Streets Exhibit
On Feb. 20, 2014, First Lady Michelle Obama visited WAT-AAH!’s Taking Back the Streets exhibit at the New Museum in New York City. WAT-AAH!’s Taking Back the Streets launches a collaboration between the brand and 14 preeminent artists that joins street art and children’s health in honor of the Partnership for a Healthier America’s (PHA) Drink Up initiative, which encourages Americans to drink more water more often. WAT-AAH!’s Taking Back the Streets uses the visual arts to remind kids and parents that choosing to drink water is one of the best and easiest decisions we can make each and every day. First Lady Michelle Obama was given a tour of the exhibit by Rose Cameron CEO/Founder of WAT-AAH!; met several of the artists; and spoke with a group of eighth graders from NYC downtown school LREI, who are working with one of the artists to complete a special commemorative Drink Up mural and an art piece expressing Drink Up’s signature tagline: “You are what you drink and when you drink water, you drink up.”

Qualitative Study Released By The WAT-AAH! Foundation
A new study commissioned by the WAT-AAH! Foundation, in conjunction with Fit Kids, finds that celebrity-endorsed food and beverage advertising campaigns are emotionally and effectively driving America’s youth to product consumption. Directly from the perspective of kids, the study shows the impact and influence these commercials and celebrities have on their generation as well as how these endorsements raised troubling concerns among kids and teens. SONGS FOR A HEALTHIER AMERICA
WAT-AAH! Foundation announces its role as presenting sponsor of the "Songs for a Healthier America" program, produced by Hip Hop Public Health (HHPH), and The Partnership for a Healthier America (PHA) whose Honorary Chair is First Lady Michelle Obama. The album uses music and entertainment to encourage healthy eating, drinking and exercise, with the goal of reducing childhood obesity. Contributing artists include legendary rap icons Doug E. Fresh, VP of Entertainment for Hip Hop Public Health and DMC of Run DMC. DRINK UP!
The collaboration to encourage everyone to drink more water was formed between the Partnership for a Healthier America - which works with the private sector and PHA Honorary Chair First Lady Michelle Obama to make the healthy choice the easy choice for busy parents and families - and stakeholders across the public and private sectors who are dedicated to encouraging people to drink more water more often. You are what you drink - and when you drink water, you drink up. The WAT-AAH! Foundation will once again use their connection with today’s youth to promote healthy hydration and the Drink Up initiative. The foundation is set to activate numerous marketing integration efforts as part of its initial commitment to Drink Up. The goal is to help raise awareness while engaging kids and teens in the Drink Up message.

Celebrating its fifth year in the marketplace on May 22nd, WAT-AAH!, continues to spread its positive message of maintaining a healthy lifestyle and playing an influential role in the fight against childhood obesity. The brand is committed to building positive imagery around health and drinking water. MOVE YOUR BODY 2013
On May 1st, 250,000 kids nationwide answered First Lady Michelle Obama's call to stand up against childhood obesity by dancing and exercising at the national "Move Your Body 2013" flash workout. Kids danced and exercised to the Beyonce flash workout exercise song, learning the importance of staying healthy and active. Championing kids' health, a new cadre of celebs standing up behind Michelle Obama's Let's Move! campaign, dancing in unison at 1:42pm EDT/ 10:42am PDT joined this youth exercise event. Celebs include Disney's pop star Bella Thorne, boy band Mindless Behavior, Hollywood Record's band R5 and Jacob Latimore in New York City, while teen celebs Coco Jones, Blake Michael, Jadagrace and Ryan Beatty excited kids in Los Angeles. The campaign gained national media coverage generating over 120 million impressions and most importantly, a formal acknowledgement and congratulatory letter from the First Lady Michelle Obama for the "Move Your Body" initiative and the company's dedication to promote the health and wellness to today's kids.
